A Place to Belong, A Place to Become

What We Believe

Basic Beliefs | Why We Do What We Do | Core Values

God
There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ.

Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.

Faith
A true relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior is only possible, by exercising faith in and accepting God’s Word. Faith must be the foundation by which one will serve God.

Why We Do What We Do

The worship is great, but what does it all mean?
Some visitors wonder why we do all that we do in worship – like stand, raise our hands, clap our hands, or even dance. All of these activities are found in the Old or New Testaments. We believe in biblical worship and praise. Below are some scriptures that will help you understand the way we worship our Father, God.

Why do we praise God like we do?
"I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my lips." (Psalms 34:1)

Why do we stand when we sing and praise in a loud voice?
"And the Levites… stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice on high." (II Chronicles 20:19)

Why do we clap our hands and shout for joy?
"O Clap your hands, all ye people, shout unto God with a voice of triumph." (Psalms 47:1)

Why do we lift our hands?
"Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name." (Psalms 63:4) :Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord." (Psalms 134:2)

Why do our people sometimes dance?
"And David danced before the Lord with all his might; … So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet." (II Samuel 6:14, 15)
